May 31: RHP (left hamstring tightness) receiving treatment in San Diego
Darvish continues to be evaluated by the Padres' medical staff in San Diego after exiting his start against the Marlins on Wednesday after just three innings because of left hamstring tightness. He allowed three runs (two earned) on 66 pitches before his departure.

Manager Mike Shildt said Darvish stayed back in San Diego to get treatment while the club traveled to Kansas City for a weekend series. The evaluation process is ongoing for Darvish, who is currently scheduled to start again on Tuesday.

"It is good news to date that there hasn't been a move yet," Shildt said. "But we're still evaluating."

Darvish, 37, has posted a 3.20 ERA across 11 starts this season, though he spent a stint on the IL earlier this year with tightness in his neck.

10-DAY/15-DAY INJURED LIST

2B Xander Bogaerts (left shoulder fracture)
Expected return: TBD
Bogaerts suffered a left shoulder fracture on May 20 in Atlanta when he dived to stop a Ronald Acuña Jr. grounder to his left side and awkwardly rolled on his left arm. The team has not given a timetable for Bogaerts' return, though he noted that the injury wouldn't require surgery. Bogaerts also said the fracture would need to heal fully before he can begin his buildup toward a return. Neither Bogaerts nor the Padres offered an estimation as to when that might be. IF/OF (surgery for torn right ACL)
Expected return:
First half
Marcano has begun taking ground balls as he progresses in his rehab from a torn ACL. The 24-year-old utilityman had surgery last August after injuring his knee while playing for the Pirates against the Padres on July 24. He does not yet have a set date to return to game action but will continue ramping up his baseball activity. (Last updated: April 12)

RHP (right shoulder teres major strain)
Expected return: First half
After dealing with shoulder trouble last season, Otto suffered a setback during the early stages of camp, and he's yet to pitch in Cactus League games. On March 9, manager Mike Shildt offered some clarity, noting that Otto is still in the rehab stage of his recovery, though he added that Otto is getting "closer to playing catch and baseball activity." The Padres claimed Otto off waivers from the Rangers last September. He was expected to be part of their rotation competition, but instead he opened the year on the injured list. 60-DAY INJURED LIST

RHP Luis Patiño (right elbow inflammation)
Expected return: 2025
Patiño underwent Tommy John surgery on April 30, putting an end to his 2024 season before it began. The 24-year-old made two appearances in Spring Training before opening the season on the IL. The Padres, who originally signed Patiño as an amateur free agent before dealing him to Tampa Bay in the 2020 Blake Snell trade, claimed Patiño off waivers from the White Sox in December.
