Dodgers Activate Evan Phillips

LOS ANGELE**S –** The Los Angeles Dodgers activated right-handed pitcher Evan Phillips from the injured list and placed right-handed pitcher Blake Treinen on the injured list with right forearm tightness.

Phillips, 30, missed 21 games this season with a shoulder injury. Last season, he went 5-1 with a 3.62 ERA and 63 strikeouts in 54.2 innings. He appeared in six rehab games with Triple-A Oklahoma City this year, allowing four earned runs in 5.2 innings with nine strikeouts. The righty enters his fifth season with the Dodgers, and he is 15-9 with a 2.28 ERA in 194 games. He has pitched in 243 Major League games with the Atlanta Braves (2018), Baltimore Orioles (2018-20), Tampa Bay Rays (2021) and Dodgers (2021-) and he is 16-21 with 45 saves and a 3.43 ERA. He was drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the 15th round of the 2015 First Year Player Draft out of UNC Wilmington.

Treinen, 36, has made eight appearances this season, going 0-2 with two saves and 3.38 ERA. He has 10 strikeouts in eight innings while holding hitters to a .250 batting average. He has been in the Majors 11 seasons with Washington (2014-17), Oakland (2017-19) and the Dodgers, and he is 43-36 with a 2.79 ERA in 507 games. He has 82 career saves with 570 strikeouts. He was drafted by the Athletics in the seventh round of the 2011 First Year Player Draft out of South Dakota State University.
