Manual Therapist/Second Assistant Athletic Trainer
Dave Iannicca is entering his 19th season with the Royals and fourth as the Manual Therapist/Second Assistant Athletic Trainer. He spent the previous three seasons as the Royals Minor League Medical Coordinator, following 12 seasons as a Certified Athletic Trainer at affiliates in Omaha (2011-2018), Wilmington (2008-2010), and Burlington (2007).
In 2010, Iannicca earned Carolina League Athletic Trainer of the Year honors and was an Athletic Trainer in the Arizona Fall League. Prior to joining the Royals, he spent the 2006 season as an Athletic Trainer for the Atlanta Braves Gulf Coast League affiliate in Orlando, FL. He was an intern in the Yankees organization (2003-04) with Triple-A Columbus and at the Yankees Player Development Complex in Tampa, FL. He has also worked as an Athletic Trainer at the collegiate level as a graduate assistant at Virginia Wesleyan College.
Iannicca earned his Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training degree from Bowling Green State University in 2003 and his Master of Science in Education degree from Old Dominion University in 2006. He resides in Buckeye, AZ., with his wife, Jacqueline, and son, Ryan.
