April 30th, 2025

CHICAGO – Prior to tonight’s game vs. Milwaukee, the Chicago White Sox returned left-handed pitcher Fraser Ellard from his injury rehabilitation assignment at Class AAA Charlotte and reinstated him from the 15-day injured list. To make room for Ellard on the 26-man roster, the White Sox optioned left-hander Tyler Gilbert to Charlotte.

Ellard, 27, was placed on the injured list on April 11 (retroactive to April 10) with a strained right hamstring. He is 0-1 with a 5.40 ERA (3 ER/5.0 IP) and six strikeouts in five games this season, his second with the Sox.

Gilbert, 31, is 1-1 with a 5.59 ERA (6 ER/9.2 IP) and 14 strikeouts over nine games (three starts) this season, his first with the White Sox. He has served as the opener in three of Chicago’s last four games, becoming the first major-league pitcher to accomplish that feat since Milwaukee’s Zack Greinke in 2012.
