PLAY BALL Weekend

PLAY BALL Weekend in Minnesota is June 12-15, 2025, with activities taking place all weekend to encourage young people to play ball! The weekend will showcase the many youth baseball and softball outreach programs of the Twins and Minnesota Twins Community Fund.

For more than 30 years, the Minnesota Twins Community Fund has provided free youth baseball and softball opportunities to communities across Twins Territory. In a youth
sports climate that is becoming increasingly competitive, expensive, and exclusive, we
know that it’s all too common for kids to feel isolated, pressured, or anxious while playing sports. But we also know the powerful difference a sense of belonging can make on a young person’s mental, emotional, and social wellbeing.

Recognizing the power of our platform to make youth sports more accessible and enjoyable, the Twins Community Fund is challenging the barriers that keep kids from participating and taking bold steps toward a more inclusive youth sports landscape in our region. For decades—even predating the creation of the Twins Community Fund—we have made a particular priority of supporting young athletes with disabilities through adaptive baseball and softball opportunities. In 2024, we took this priority to new heights by expanding partnerships, adding events, and increasing donations to reach more young people with disabilities. Through these investments we are making strides to ensure that every child has individualized instruction, equipment, and safe places to play the games they love and develop their skills in a positive environment, because we firmly believe that baseball and softball are for everyone.

MLB Play Ball! Clinic with Lieutenant Governor Penny Flanagan

Thursday, June 12, 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM @ Carpenter Park – Skippy Fields (St. Louis Park, MN)

The Minnesota Twins are excited to partner with MLB to kick off PLAY BALL Weekend by doing what we do best…putting on a great clinic! Athletes will have the up-close opportunity to learn from Twins staff and current Lieutenant Governor and big Twins Baseball fan Penny Flanagan! Athletes will improve their skillset as they rotate through fun and engaging stations.

Twins Fantasy Camp for Kids! (Courage Kenny Wheelchair Softball)

Friday, June 13, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM @ Todd Anderson Field

The Minnesota Twins are excited to partner with Baseball Fantasy Camps, the City of Brooklyn Park, and Allina Health to lead the way in adaptive sports and host a Wheelchair Softball Clinic on Friday, June 13. At this clinic, 60 athletes will have the opportunity to learn from Twins staff and current players.

All athletes are asked to bring a positive attitude and plenty of energy! Each player will receive a customized Twins jersey, interaction with current Twins players, MLB PLAY BALL Weekend swag, and a special appearance by T.C. and Mudonna.

MTCF Free Youth Baseball/Softball Clinic: Rock Valley, IA

Friday, June 13, 2:00 – 4:00 PM @ Rock Valley Sports Complex

Our Youth Clinics teach fundamentals of the game, including but not limited to hitting, throwing, and fielding. Along with reinforcing important frameworks, clinics spread the JOY and FUN of baseball and softball. The clinics are for kids ages 6-12. We use safe equipment for kids and reinforce safety ground rules at the beginning of our events. We ask kids to bring their gloves and water to stay hydrated! Also, we recommend bringing a ball cap, sunscreen, and a snack for your ballplayer!

MLB Pitch, Hit and Run

Friday, June 13, 5:30 – 7:30 PM @ Target Field

Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit & Run is a free event that creates a safe and fun environment for kids to stay active and learn or continue to play baseball and softball in their local communities. Participation gives the athletes a chance to compete and earn a spot in a Team Championship or National Finals.

The Pitch, Hit & Run program is a free event series for boys and girls, and consists of a series of movements that are important in baseball and softball. Participants will compete in either 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, or 13-14 age division, with the Age Cut-off set on November 15, 2025. They will be tested, and their measurements will be recorded for points. Based on their scores, they will advance from a local event to a Team Championship and then to the National Finals hosted at the World Series.

The MSHSL State Championship Games is a celebration of high school baseball in Minnesota! Come out and support! Come see the hard work and dedication of the Minnesota student's athletes competing to be crowned state championship.

Inspire Play Jamboree

Saturday, June 14, 9:00 – 10:30 AM @ Nieman Sports Complex

The Inspire Play Jamboree is hosted in conjunction with Playworks Minnesota. The event will run from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Neiman Sports Complex in Bloomington, MN. The Inspire Play Jamboree is designed to teach the importance of PLAY during the 2025 PLAY BALL WEEKEND. Through play, children discover the joy of physical activity. They learn the social and emotional skills they will use in the classroom, in the workplace, and in life.

Come and experience the joy and fun of sports! The Twins will be accompanied by Playworks. Special appearances from mascots T.C and Mudonna! Playworks Minnesota and their team of amazing coaches will be running classic recess games including jump rope, hopscotch, hula hoops, four square, and tee ball/wiffle ball games for 4–8-year-olds.

Jump in and play at any time throughout the event. Playworks is a national nonprofit organization that partners with elementary schools across the country to advocate for active social play throughout the school day. The fields will be full of fun. Bring your gloves if you have one. If you do not, that is okay, too!

MTCF Free Youth Baseball/Softball Clinic: Trimont, MN

MTCF Free Youth Baseball/Softball Clinic: Deaf, Deafblind, and Hard of Hearing Clinic

Saturday, June 14, 1:00 – 2:30 PM @ Neiman Sports Complex

The summer of 2025 will be the third season that the Twins Community Fund will offer free youth baseball and softball clinics for the Deaf, DeafBlind, and Hard of Hearing community.

Our Youth Clinics teach fundamentals of the game, including hitting, throwing, and fielding. Along with reinforcing important frameworks, clinics spread the JOY and FUN of baseball and softball. This clinic is for athletes aged 6-18. We use safe equipment for kids and reinforce safety ground rules at the beginning of our events. We ask athletes to bring their gloves and water to stay hydrated!

Twins 14U Girls Baseball Nationals Team Open Practice

We are excited to invite all youth Baseball families, players, fans to watch and support our Twins 14U Girls Baseball National Team's open practice. Our girls have been working hard to shine on the field and encourage girls to feel inspired to play baseball. Come out and watch their intrasquad practice, followed by a meet and greet with the team.

No ticket, registration, or RSVP is required. If you plan to attend, simply add it to your calendar, and we'll see you there. Show up in your Twins gear and be ready to cheer on your Twins 14U Girls Baseball National Team before they head out to compete in the Baseball For All Tournament in Sparks, Nevada.

Challenger Program Let's Play Clinic

The Minnesota Twins and Saint Paul Saints are partnering to host a clinic for Twins Territory athletes who participate in the Challenger program.

The Challenger Program is Little League's adaptive baseball program for individuals with physical and intellectual disabilities.
